Making Christmas magical, meaningful & memorable ♥

About Hayley

Hi, I’m Hayley 👋

I’m a blogger, writer, seasonal strategist and the person behind Festive Friends.

I’ve been blogging for more than 15 years, which means I’ve lived through practically every era of the internet — from the days when blogging felt like keeping a slightly prettier online diary to Pinterest, TikTok, Instagram and whatever we’re all going to become obsessed with next.

But one subject has followed me through all of it:

Christmas.

I absolutely love it.

I’m a Christmas Blogger at Heart

I’ve written about plenty of things over the years — beauty, fashion, lifestyle, business, toys and more — but Christmas has always been the season when my creativity really comes alive.

Give me Christmas lights, a notebook and an unnecessarily ambitious content plan and I’m happy.

I love the entire season.

The shopping.

The decorating.

The ridiculous gift guides.

The traditions.

The food.

The days out.

The planning.

The excitement when Christmas displays start appearing far too early and everyone else is complaining while I’m quietly delighted.

Festive Friends is where all of that gets to live together.

I’m Also a Seasonal Strategist

Behind the Christmas trees and gift guides is a fairly serious fascination with why seasonal content works.

I’ve spent years creating blogs and online content, studying what gets clicked, shared, searched for and saved.

I’m particularly fond of Pinterest and seasonal strategy because I’ve seen just how powerful the right piece of content can become when it’s created for the right moment.

So when I’m putting together a Festive Friends article, I’m approaching it from both sides.

There’s Hayley the Christmas obsessive, asking:

Would I actually find this useful?

And Hayley the strategist, asking:

What is somebody really looking for when they land on this page?

Hopefully the combination makes Festive Friends a little more useful than simply throwing 47 random products into a gift guide and calling it a day.

I Believe Christmas Should Be Fun

I’m not interested in creating another corner of the internet that makes people feel as though they’re doing Christmas incorrectly.

Your tree doesn’t need to look like it belongs in a department store.

You don’t need 300 presents underneath it.

You don’t have to cook everything from scratch.

And you certainly don’t need to bankrupt yourself trying to create somebody else’s version of the perfect Christmas.

I love beautiful things.

I love the occasional splurge.

I also love finding something brilliant for £10.

Christmas isn’t about how much something costs.

It’s about what it means to the person receiving it.

Why Festive Friends?

Because that’s exactly what I want this site to feel like.

Not a catalogue.

Not a corporate shopping website.

Not somebody standing over you with a Christmas checklist.

A friend.

The friend you ask when you have absolutely no idea what to buy someone.

The friend who knows where the Christmas displays are.

The friend who has already started thinking about December while everyone else is still wearing sandals.

The friend who says, “Don’t panic. I’ve got an idea.”

That’s Festive Friends.

And behind it is me, probably drinking something warm, surrounded by far too many Christmas ideas and already planning what we’re going to do next.

I’m very glad you’ve found us.

Love, Hayley x

More joy. Less stress. All the Christmas. 💜🎄
